This page explains how to request deletion of your Casa Cameroon account and associated personal data from the Casa mobile app, WhatsApp experience, and casahomelisting.com.
How to request account deletion
- Send an email to support@casahomelisting.com with the subject line Account deletion request — Casa Cameroon.
- Include the WhatsApp phone number registered on your Casa account (with country code, e.g. +237…).
- Optionally state whether you are a tenant or landlord, and whether you also want active listings removed.
- We will verify that you control the account (for example by confirming via WhatsApp OTP to the registered number).
- After verification, we process deletion within 30 days and email you when complete.
You may also contact us on WhatsApp at +237 681 279 007 and ask for account deletion; we will direct you to confirm the request using the steps above.
Data that is deleted
When your deletion request is approved and processed, we delete or anonymize:
- Phone number and account profile (role, language, referral details)
- Authentication sessions and device push notification tokens
- Saved searches, shortlists, and in-app preferences
- Optional diaspora beneficiary contact details
- Landlord identity verification documents (ID photos), when applicable
- Listing media and descriptions you uploaded, if you request listing removal as part of account deletion
Data that may be kept
Some information may be retained for a limited time where required by law, security, or dispute resolution:
- Moderation and security logs (e.g. fraud reports, abuse flags) — retained up to 12 months, then deleted or anonymized.
- Payment or unlock records, if any — retained up to 7 years where required for accounting, tax, or legal compliance, then deleted or anonymized.
- Aggregated, non-identifiable statistics (e.g. total searches in a city) — may be kept indefinitely because they cannot identify you.
Retention after your request
Processing timeline
We aim to complete account deletion within 30 days of verifying your request. Backup systems may take up to an additional 30 days to purge residual copies. Data we must keep for legal reasons is stored only as long as required and is not used for marketing.
Before you delete
- Deletion is permanent. You will need to create a new account to use Casa again.
- If you are a landlord, tell us whether to remove active listings or mark them inactive.
- Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or data.
